COTA Victoria will pilot an Aged Care Advisory Service to determine whether an independent advice service can help families navigate the maze of information, providers, funding packages and health assessment processes. The advisory service will be run through COTA Victoria’s phone information line from November 1 until December 22, to determine whether to allocate funding towards a more permanent, dedicated service.
COTA CEO Ronda Held said COTA VIC was receiving an increasing number of enquiries through their general information line which highlighted the need to pilot a more dedicated service to support the journey older people and their families take as they access aged care. COTA Aged Care Advisory Service Project Manager Cate Keane recently spoke about the project with Victorian Commissioner for Seniors Rights Gerard Mansour on Golden Days Radio 95.7fm. You can listen to the interview on the link below.
People can call 1300 135090 Monday-Friday, from 9:30am-1pm, to leave their details so an advisor can call them back.
