Project Coordinator - Elder Abuse Prevention - North & West (Merri Health)

Part-time (0.7 EFT), fixed term position until 29 November 2019

Work with partner organisations to develop/review and implement elder abuse policies, protocols and referral pathways to assist members of the community who may disclose elder abuse.

We’re looking for individuals with:

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Community Development

  • Highly developed communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in social policy and project management, ideally in a community development context

  • Demonstrated experience in promotion and marketing of services to increase market reach

  • Well-developed planning, time management and working with multiple stakeholders

  • Capacity to maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and actively participate in partnerships and networks

ABORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

The Aboriginal Development Officer works with and supports Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (HACC PYP) funded agencies to improve outcomes for Aboriginal people; works with organisations to support culturally safe and responsive service to Aboriginal communities; works with Aboriginal Access and Support staff, Sector Development Teams, Regional Assessment Service (RAS) and Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) in the Metro region, attends meetings at the regional and state wide level, secretariat to the Metropolitan Aboriginal Aged Care & Disability Network and attends the Victorian Committee for Aboriginal Aged Care and Disability (VCAACD), and facilitates communication between VCAACD and the Aboriginal Network

This position is located at the Aborigines Advancement League and works across the Metropolitan Region of North, West, South, and East DHHS Regions
